Representations of image and object fuse in this series investigating the linkage between objects as storyteller describing remnants of history and the use of images to elicit memory. Various cross-sections from digital 3D scans of damaged physical photographs are engraved into the panels with a CNC router removing and erasing part of the image, thus shifting the work toward an abstraction, which parallels the process of memory itself.
All works are digitally engraved into direct to substrate printed aluminum panels, mounted on rotating monitor arms and attached to the wall. Each work can be moved to different angels to address the viewer and respond to the space referencing the predominant use of the screen in their making and in our culture at large.
